Smile Makeovers

Five cosmetic treatments, and a plan that decides which of them you actually need. Often it is fewer than you came in expecting.

Is this you

Is this the treatment you need?

The practice’s own four. Cosmetic dentistry is elective, which means the only person who can answer this is you.

01

You do not smile in photographs

Or you cover your mouth when you laugh. Chips, stains or crooked teeth — the reason matters less than the habit.

02

Discolouration, uneven edges or gaps

Things that distract from an otherwise healthy smile, and that even out fairly easily.

03

Teeth that have aged

Worn down, darkened or shifted over the years. Contouring and ceramic restorations wind that back.

Something is coming up

A wedding, a new job, a first impression you would like to make differently.

The Treatment

Five treatments, and how they combine.

A close smile

What is a smile makeover?

Not a treatment — a plan. Several cosmetic treatments combined and sequenced to reach a result, designed around your facial features, your tooth proportions and your natural smile line.

In the practice’s words

A smile makeover is a customized plan that combines multiple cosmetic treatments to achieve your ideal appearance. Depending on your goals, this may include teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, dental crowns, and Invisalign to correct both the appearance and alignment of your teeth.

No two smiles are the same — and neither are our treatment plans. Dr. Dave Cho takes the time to carefully assess your current oral health, listen to your goals, and evaluate your unique facial features, tooth proportions, and natural smile line. Whether you’re aiming for subtle enhancements or a dramatic transformation, we design a customized plan tailored to your vision.

The five, and which problem each one solves

  • WhiteningIn-office for one visit, or custom take-home trays at your own pace. Lifts years of stain from coffee, wine, smoking and age.
  • Porcelain veneersUltra-thin ceramic shells bonded to the front of the teeth. Chips, cracks, stubborn discolouration, small gaps and minor misalignment, all at once.
  • BondingTooth-coloured resin sculpted onto small imperfections. Minimally invasive, one appointment, and the cheapest of the five.
  • CrownsWhere a tooth needs strength as well as appearance. A cosmetic result on a structural problem.
  • Invisalign®Crowding, gaps and minor bite issues, moved rather than covered. Often the right first step, because straightening changes what else is needed.

Why Here

What the practice brings to it.

Cosmetic work is judged by eye. The technology matters, and so does whose eye is doing the judging.

A plan built to your face

Facial features, tooth proportions and your natural smile line, assessed before any treatment is proposed.

Smile design software

Digital imaging and design tools, so the result is predictable rather than hoped for.

Minimally invasive tools

Less removed from the tooth, shorter treatment time, and a better long-term outcome.

Materials that last

High-quality and durable, chosen to withstand daily life rather than only to photograph well.

It should not be intimidating

The practice’s own position: cosmetic dentistry should be exciting. Questions answered, anxieties eased, no pressure.

Natural, not obvious

The stated goal is a smile that looks authentically yours. A result nobody can identify as dental work.

The two whitening options, in the practice’s own words
  • In-office whitening. Noticeably whiter teeth in a single visit, using powerful, safe whitening agents that lift years of deep stains from coffee, wine, smoking and aging.
  • Take-home whitening kits. Customised trays that let you brighten your smile at your own pace, with professional-grade results.

And on veneers: these ultra-thin, custom-crafted ceramic shells are bonded to the front surface of your teeth, correcting chips, cracks, stubborn discoloration, small gaps and even minor misalignments. They are stain-resistant and designed to mimic the light-reflecting properties of natural enamel, giving a flawless yet natural-looking smile with minimal alteration to your natural teeth.

The Path

What happens, step by step.

Health before appearance

Your current oral health is assessed first. Decay and gum disease get treated before anything cosmetic goes on top of them.

The plan, and the order

Which treatments, in which sequence, and what each stage costs. Straightening usually comes before whitening, and whitening before anything is colour-matched.

The Alternatives

Which of the five is yours.

The three that change how a tooth looks.

If the problem isThe treatment is usually
Colour, on otherwise sound teeth.Whitening — in-office or take-home.
A small chip, crack or uneven edge.Bonding. One visit, and nothing removed.
Several front teeth at once.Porcelain veneers.
A tooth that is weak as well as unsightly.A crown, which does both jobs.
Crowding, gaps, or the bite.Invisalign®, moving the teeth rather than covering them.

Most patients arrive wanting veneers and leave with a plan involving fewer, cheaper treatments. That is a good outcome, not a downgrade.

Why the order matters

A makeover done in the wrong sequence costs more and looks worse. Three rules decide it.

  • Health firstDecay, gum disease and a failing restoration are all treated before cosmetic work goes over them.
  • Position before colourStraightening changes which teeth show. Do it before deciding what needs covering.
  • Colour before matchingWhiten first. Resin and porcelain do not lighten later, so anything bonded or fitted is matched to the shade you have settled on.

The Cost

What it costs, before it starts.

A makeover is priced by stage, not as a single number, so you can decide how far to go and stop wherever you like.

Amazing and attentive care from all the staff! Really felt valued during my visit. The cleaning and exams were quick and efficient. Also got info on invisalign which looks way comfortable and easy. Can’t wait to start my treatment and keep coming back for routine cleanings!

MeTheVee

The staff here is super friendly and informative. Just had my cleaning and exams done, and they were thorough without being rough. The dental filling went really well, didn’t hurt one bit, and they took extra care to ensure it looked great. Overall, a very clear and calm vibe in the office. Highly recommend checking them out for your family dentistry needs.

Questions

Questions patients ask before they decide.

Will it look obviously done?

The stated goal is the opposite: a smile that looks naturally beautiful and feels authentically yours. The plan is built around your facial features, tooth proportions and natural smile line rather than to a standard shape.

Do I need all five treatments?

Almost certainly not. A makeover combines whichever treatments your goals actually require, and many patients need one or two. Arriving wanting veneers and leaving with a plan for whitening and bonding is a common and good outcome.

What is the difference between veneers and bonding?

Veneers are custom-crafted ceramic shells bonded to the front of the teeth, stain-resistant and long-lasting, suited to several teeth or a dramatic change. Bonding is resin sculpted directly onto the tooth in one visit, minimally invasive and far cheaper, suited to small imperfections.

Should I whiten before or after other work?

Before. Resin and porcelain do not lighten with whitening the way enamel does, so anything bonded or fitted is matched to the shade you have settled on. Mention your whitening plans at the consultation.

Can cosmetic work be done if I have decay or gum problems?

Those are treated first. Cosmetic work placed over active decay or gum disease fails, and the health assessment is part of the consultation for exactly this reason.

How long does a smile makeover take?

It depends entirely on the plan. Whitening or bonding can be a single appointment. A plan involving Invisalign followed by veneers runs for months, because the teeth have to be moved before anything is matched to them.
